At least 147 workers died in June 2015 ! 


Workers' Health and Work Safety Assembly - WHSA (İşçi Sağlığı ve İş Güvenliği Meclisi) is a labor organization founded by workers, public employees, victims' families, doctors, engineers, scholars, journalists and their organizations. WHSA; is independent from the state and the capital, and it coordinates - the common struggle for safety and health at workplaces...
 

• At least 794 workers died in the first half of 2015. 


• The number of workers' deaths are on the increase... 
• June 2012 : 59 workers died. 
• June 2013: 104 workers died. 
• June 2014: 151 workers died. 
• June 2015: 147 workers died. 
 
 
• The cases of workers' deaths concentrate mostly to the agriculture, construction, transport and trade, office, education branches... 

 
• Workers mostly died in traffic accidents (service vehicles transporting workers involved in accidents) or crash due to caving in of the working areas, or falling or other reasons...

 
• In work murders during the month of June 2015, 6 female workers and 141 male workers died. 
 
 
• In work murders during the month of June 2015, 8 child workers,47 elder workers and 3 migrant workers died. 

 
• The cases of workers' deaths concentrate mostly in İzmir, İstanbul, Adana and Antalya. 


Workers should be able to choose their unions freely and they should have job security... 
Outsourcing of jobs to contractors and subcontractors and all sorts of insecure forms of work should be banned, not the strikes...
